The new Thakeham Village Hall is a contemporary blank canvas for a wedding reception. The hall is accessible to all with step free access from the adjacent carpark.

The Hall comfortably accommodates up to 180 people seated at long tressle tables, 150 seated at round tables or 120 if you wish to leave tables in place for reception drinks and dancing.

The separate Chesswood Room can be used as a dance room, a ‘quiet room’, bar or kids area.

Both rooms open to the terrace area.

Our modern kitchen has caterers in mind with a double oven range cooker, plate warming cupboard, larder fridge, under counter freezer, commercial dishwasher, urn and microwave. The kitchen has serving hatches into both rooms.

Hire Charges

The hire charge includes the room hire fee and use of the Hall’s tables, chairs and kitchen equipment.

A typical Saturday wedding will book exclusive use of the Hall from 6pm Friday evening and all of Saturday. The hire charge includes packing away and cleaning the hall so you can enjoy your day without worrying about cleaning afterwards. For a firm quote taking into account your specific needs, please contact the Hall Managers.

50% of the hire fee is required to secure the booking, and the balance is due four weeks prior to the event. In addition to the hire charge a refundable Security Deposit of £500 is required. This will be returned to the hirer within 28 days of the event, providing that the terms and conditions of hiring have been met. These include any damage to the Hall, loss of equipment or nuisance caused to neighbours.
